She admits she missed some conveniences and comforts of home, and struggled getting used to some of the local customs. Trudy shares some of the “shipwrecks” she and husband John experienced while struggling to learn a foreign language on the mission field and how the humbling experiences helped to solidify their confidence in God's faithfulness. Does the way you treat your neighbors reflect your love for God? In this episode, Trudy asks that question as she talks about what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves. She recounts examples of care given and care received in light of Jesus’ command to love God and love others. In this episode, Trudy shares one of her favorite stories: how she met (and hired!) her husband, John, while operating a Chick fil-A restaurant at 17 years old. But the story began much earlier, when Trudy’s dad encouraged her as a young teen to begin thinking about the qualities she wanted in her future partner. The list served as a guide through her dating years and, eventually, meeting John.
